about our logo: the lingling-o

The lingling-o symbol has been associated with various indigenous cultures of the Philippines, such as that of the Ifugao, Bontoc, Kalinga and Gaddang. Presently a popular tattooed emblem seen among Filipinos in the Motherland and the diaspora, the lingling-o symbolises courage, balance of male and female energies, harvest, and most importantly to Pinay Power II, fertility. In visually representing the reproductive organs of a woman, the indigenous symbol is said to bring fertility and supernatural powers to its wearer. For Pinay Power II the promise of fertility is not just of the womb, but of the land, mind and people. It is an opportunity to give birth to better and innovative opportunities for ourselves and our community, and give life to new circumstances and realities for our well being and the well being of others.
